Pelvic Floor

To Kegel, or not to Kegel, that is the question in the birth community lately. Kegels have been the long time standard for conditioning the pelvic floor muscles. However, recently, there has been some negative information suggesting that Kegels can actually make things worse by causing an imbalance in muscle tone “down there.” Here is a playlist of videos by women’s sports medicine physical therapist, Julie Wiebe. She does a fantastic job of explaining how the muscles all work together, and gives suggestions for keeping the pelvic floor fit and healthy.
