Amelia Has Retired
But still providing support!Due to difficulty with night driving and the grueling nature of birth work, Amelia has made the very difficult decision to retire from birth work after sixteen years of serving the Hampton Roads community. This decision has not been an easy one, but a necessary one. She has loved serving her hundreds of beautiful and amazing clients over the years and feels a great deal of sadness about leaving birth work. But she is not a quitter!
She is busy birthing a new blog to continue with her passion to support women and their families during the peripartum period. She is planning all kinds of free resources for expectant parents, new doulas, and homeschoolers.
Thank you to all of my precious clients and my doula friends who have supported and encouraged me over the years! I love every one of you!
Please check back soon for the upcoming birth!

Amelia is slowing down on her doula work after June of 2019, and won’t be taking too many doula clients. She will continue to serve repeat clients or the occasional home birth client. To serve you, Amelia recommends Liz Pelletier, of 757 Doulas, who has been her amazing partner. Also, check out Peninsula Doulas, Doulas of Tidewater, and Doula Match, to help you in your search for a doula.
Testimonials

“Amelia was incredibly supportive of me (and my husband) throughout the entire labor and birth, and if I were to have a third child I would definitely want her to doula by my side. My husband, who was initially unsure of why we needed a doula, later said that having Amelia there was “like having another husband there…one that knows exactly what to say and do.” And he was right.”
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb...
